“I’m bullish on this coin”

“This XYZ coin is going to the moon”

As a newbie in the world of cryptocurrencies, you’ll hear a lot of words you’ve never heard of before. A normal dictionary is not enough for all the slang that’s being written.

Here’s another one:

“Moonboys are shilling sh*tcoins.”

The one phrase that really got to me is ‘do your own research (DYOR)’. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing since the summer of 2020. Learning about crypto at my own pace without all the FOMO being thrown at me.

Luckily for us, several platforms are willing to…

Everyone would like to read more books in a year. Whether the goal is 1, 12, or 52, you’ll achieve it faster when you improve your reading speed. The reading speed of a Medium article is set to 275/minute. However, everyone is capable of reading 500 words/minute.

Determine your baseline

Determine your baseline reading speed. Figure out how many words you can read in 5 minutes. This can either be done by counting the average words on a page in your current book or take a test

A practical take on the Stoic philosophy to live a more happy life every day

British philosopher and writer Alan Watts once wrote the story of the Chinese farmer.

Once upon a time, there was a Chinese farmer whose horse ran away. That evening, all of his neighbors came around to commiserate. They said, “We are so sorry to hear your horse has run away. This is most unfortunate.” The farmer said, “Maybe.” The next day the horse came back bringing seven wild horses with it, and in the evening everybody came back and said, “Oh, isn’t that lucky. What a great turn of events. You now have eight horses!” The farmer again said, “Maybe.”

Think about the weather and death, a lot

In the heart of the Stoic philosophy lies the idea ‘control what you can control’. If something is outside your (direct) sphere of influence, don’t bother. Some things aren’t up to you to change.

Anything can happen at any time in your life. No one could foresee the COVID-19 pandemic. However, a real Stoic is not emotionally affected by this event.

The Stoics were masters of controlling emotions and eventually creating their own happiness. Happiness is not a game of chance.

Control the controlables

Spending time and energy on stuff you can’t control is a waste. We have no impact on the weather…

Managing financial health is like teenage sex. Everyone is talking about it but no one really knows how to do it. Sometime in your twenties, you’re confronted with the fact that you’re clueless.

I’m almost done studying and ready to earn the big bucks. However, I will start my professional career in debt and without any idea on how to manage my income properly. This seems to be the starting point of every millennial entering their 20s.

All adults in the modern world are dealing with money on a daily basis. However…

It’s widely known that Robots are taking over jobs previously occupied by humans. Many discussions are held regarding this interesting topic. People are often scared to become unemployed.

Gartner has conducted a lot of research into this topic. It was already predicted years ago that AI would create more jobs than it would take away; Gartner Article.

Having a background in software design and retail business sparked the following question; How will a future grocery store look like? Moreover, will grocery stores even continue to exist?

Note: some innovative ideas may already be quite normal in some countries across the…

A non-fungible what? An NFT.

It still doesn’t make a lot of sense to most people in the crypto space, let alone people who aren’t familiar with cryptocurrencies in the first place. NFTs have become very popular over a small period of time, even though the technology already existed back in 2017.

In short, an NFT is a ‘thing’ on the Ethereum network that is unique. If you own this thing, no one else can own it.

Like having 150 different Pokémon and just one card for each of those. Now imagine having this card online.

So what is this thing?

It’s something unique that…

Algorithmic trading may sound a bit futuristic. Next to that, I don’t think I’m currently in this category of trading (yet). My main goals for the coming period are easy; learning about trading and learning about technologies behind it.

My previous post showed my first steps into the world of trading done by technology. The chosen application for my first experience is Hummingbot. I’m still learning a lot on this tool each and every day, trying different strategies and especially figuring out what’s not working.

The progress

The journey continues..

A lot of positive thinking arrived after the first post a little…

Over the past couple of months I became interested in trading cryptocurrencies instead of just holding (hodling) different coins. The promise of earning lots of money in no-time and with little effort struck me. Of course this is not in anyway what reality showed. In the end it’s not money that is coming in for free, but knowledge.

I am keeping a journal to track my progress and learning curve. My writings might not make any sense to others but here it goes..

After trying different methods of automated crypto trading I stumbled upon the craft of market making. Many…

Learning everything there is to learn. Currently learning about automated trading, stoicism and the FiRe movement.
